HR & Accounting Officer

About the role

We are looking for a versatile HR & Accounting Officer to support both the finance and people functions of our family‑run granola and nut‑butter manufacturing business. The role combines day‑to‑day accounting tasks with core HR activities, ensuring smooth financial operations and a positive employee experience.

Key responsibilities

• Process accounts payable and receivable, verify invoices, match purchase orders, and prepare payments.
• Perform daily journal entries, accruals, adjustments, and bank reconciliations using Odoo or a similar system.
• Prepare monthly closing entries, balance sheets, P&L reviews, and support year‑end close in line with IFRS.
• Maintain fixed‑asset register, depreciation schedules, and assist with VAT filings and regulatory reporting.
• Support inventory reconciliation and coordinate stock movements with operations.
• Maintain employee records, contracts, attendance, leave, and payroll processing.
• Coordinate onboarding and off‑boarding, ensure compliance with Bahrain labor laws, and handle employee queries.
• Liaise with auditors, tax authorities, and banks, providing required documentation and audit trails.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources or a related field.
• Strong understanding of Bahrain labor legislation and VAT regulations.
• Experience with full‑cycle accounting and payroll in a manufacturing environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software (Odoo, Zoho or similar).
• Knowledge of IFRS standards (e.g., IFRS 15, IFRS 16, IAS 2, IAS 16, IAS 1).
• Familiarity with Bahrain labor law and VAT compliance.
