Junior Mechanical Engineer – Bahrain

About the role

Bilfinger is seeking a Junior Mechanical Engineer to support mechanical design and project execution for its oil & gas, petrochemical and industrial clients in Bahrain. You will work closely with senior engineers to ensure deliverables meet project specifications, international standards and client requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Assist Lead/Senior Mechanical Engineers in project execution.
• Prepare and review mechanical drawings, calculations, specifications and datasheets.
• Support equipment selection and develop mechanical equipment specifications.
• Participate in engineering activities for pumps, compressors, vessels, tanks and heat exchangers.
• Review vendor drawings, technical documents and equipment data.
• Coordinate with Process, Piping, Civil & Structural, Electrical and Instrumentation disciplines.
• Take part in design reviews, technical meetings and interdisciplinary coordination.
• Prepare material requisitions, equipment datasheets and assist in technical bid evaluations.
• Provide technical support during construction, inspection, commissioning and site activities.
• Participate in site visits, walkdowns and punch‑list activities.
• Maintain project documentation and ensure timely delivery of engineering outputs.
• Follow company HSE and quality requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering within the process industry.
• Familiarity with international codes and standards applicable to mechanical equipment.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Mechanical design and drafting.
