Legal Counsel

About the role

Yokogawa is seeking a proactive Legal Counsel to provide high‑quality, business‑oriented legal support across its operations in the MEA region. The role blends core legal advisory duties with cross‑functional involvement in risk management, corporate strategy and insurance, offering a dynamic environment for a commercially minded lawyer.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct legal research and monitor legislative developments across the MEA region.
• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including supply, sales, service, licensing, distribution and consultancy agreements.
• Provide business‑focused legal advice that supports commercial decisions while ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Review, draft and update corporate policies, procedures and key documents.
• Lead legal due‑diligence processes and manage claims and disputes from assessment to resolution, including settlement negotiations and supervision of external counsel.
• Develop and deliver legal awareness and training programs for non‑legal teams.
• Support risk‑management initiatives by identifying, assessing and reporting legal and operational risks.
• Assist with strategic initiatives such as M&A and corporate insurance matters.

Required profile

• Law degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) and bar membership or certification.
• 3–5 years of post‑qualification experience in corporate law, preferably within an international organization.
• Experience in risk management, insurance or M&A is a plus.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to translate complex legal issues into practical business solutions.
• Fluency in Arabic, English and French.
