Machine Operator – Bakery Production

About the role

Amalfi Foods is seeking a reliable Machine Operator to run bakery production and packaging equipment safely and efficiently. You will ensure that all products meet the company’s quality, food safety and production standards while supporting shift operations.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, inspect, and operate assigned machinery according to approved procedures and production schedules.
• Adjust machine settings such as speed, temperature, timing, weight and filling levels within approved parameters.
• Perform start‑up checks, product changeovers, shutdowns and routine cleaning/inspection of equipment.
• Monitor product quality (appearance, weight, dimensions, baking consistency, filling and packaging integrity) and record production output, downtime and waste.
• Identify machine faults, carry out basic troubleshooting within training limits and escalate unresolved issues to Maintenance.
• Maintain accurate records, verify correct ingredients and packaging materials, and provide clear shift handovers.

Required profile

• High school qualification or technical/vocational diploma.
• Minimum two years of machine operation experience in food manufacturing, preferably bakery or FMCG.
• Basic understanding of machinery, production controls and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with GMP, HACCP and food hygiene practices.
• Ability to read work instructions, record production data and communicate effectively in English.
• Willingness to work shifts, including nights and weekends.

Required skills

• Operation of automated mixing, depositing, forming, baking, filling, slicing and packaging equipment.
• Basic troubleshooting of production machinery.
• Reading and following work instructions and safety procedures.
