Mechanical CAD Design Engineer

About the role

Fives Services Gulf, the Fives service centre for the Middle East with a team of 160 people in Bahrain, UAE and Saudi Arabia, is looking for a Mechanical CAD Design Engineer. The engineer produces 2D and 3D drawings and designs for manufacturing and assembly in line with customer requirements and Fives policies, standards and regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop engineering design submissions (2D and 3D) and lead design reviews to meet client specifications and contractual terms
• Conduct test fits and stress analysis, and redesign designs when change requests or specification amendments arise
• Design jigs, welding fixtures and special purpose machines, and act as the point of contact for design amendments and approvals
• Prepare bills of materials, production orders and purchase requests, and support RFQs, quotations and subcontractor selection
• Approve design processes, take part in technical investigations and fault finding, and prepare installation, spare parts and maintenance manuals
• Keep design records up to date on an as-built basis, take part in audits and ensure HSEQ compliance

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant engineering field
• At least three years of relevant experience
