Mechanical Maintenance Engineer – Rolling Mill

About the role

The Mechanical Maintenance Engineer will lead and optimise maintenance activities within a high‑capacity aluminium or steel sheet rolling mill. This position ensures reliable operation of hydraulic, pneumatic and rotating equipment, while driving continuous improvements to boost productivity, quality and plant capacity.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting across the mill.
• Maintain and service hydraulic, pneumatic and rotating equipment systems.
• Diagnose and resolve circuit faults, implement system upgrades and equipment modifications.
• Collaborate with operations to enhance process reliability and output.
• Lead shift teams, ensuring safety compliance and effective handovers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in a maintenance department of a rolling mill producing aluminium or steel sheets.
• Current role as Mechanical Engineer or Shift Manager with hands‑on expertise.
• Proven experience managing shift‑in‑charge responsibilities is preferred.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Candidates from non‑rolling‑mill backgrounds will not be considered.
