Medical Records Officer / Clerk

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Medical Records Officer/Clerk to ensure patient records are accurately maintained, securely stored and readily available to authorised staff. The role supports the flow of clinical information across departments while upholding strict confidentiality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, organise and update patient medical records in line with healthcare procedures.
• Enter demographic, clinical and administrative data accurately into Electronic Health Records (EHR) and hospital information systems.
• Review records for missing or inconsistent information and coordinate corrections.
• Retrieve and provide records promptly to authorised doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals.
• Securely store physical and electronic records, protecting them from loss, damage or unauthorised access.
• Scan, upload, index and archive medical documents, ensuring correct patient linkage.
• Process authorised requests for copies of records, verifying patient identity and consent.
• Assist patients and representatives with enquiries about record access and release procedures.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and high level of organisational ability.
• Understanding of confidentiality and privacy requirements in a healthcare setting.
• Excellent data‑entry accuracy and ability to work with large volumes of information.
• Good communication skills for interacting with clinical and administrative teams.
