Mid-Level Remote Chemical Engineer (Bahrain)

About the role

We are seeking a mid-level Chemical Engineer to design, develop, optimise and monitor chemical processes and production systems for our innovative, sustainability-focused organisation. The role is fully remote, supporting operations in Bahrain and collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve efficiency, safety and environmental performance.

Key responsibilities

• Design, evaluate and optimise chemical processes, systems and production operations.
• Conduct process analysis to identify efficiency, quality and cost improvement opportunities.
• Develop process flow diagrams, technical specifications and engineering documentation.
• Monitor production performance, troubleshoot process-related issues and support scale-up initiatives.
• Collaborate with operations, quality, maintenance and engineering teams to enhance plant performance.
• Perform process simulations, testing and validation activities.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards and industry best practices.
• Prepare technical reports, process evaluations and engineering recommendations.
• Participate in risk assessments, hazard analyses and process safety management activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 2–5+ years of experience in chemical/process engineering, manufacturing or production.
• Strong understanding of chemical processes, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and process design principles.
• Proven ability to analyse data, solve problems and drive continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication, teamwork and organisational skills.

• Process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, CHEMCAD).
• Microsoft Office suite.
• Engineering analysis tools.
