Setting Out Manager

About the role

The Setting Out Manager will coordinate internal and external clients and lead the setting out team to ensure smooth project manufacturing, client satisfaction, and balanced quality and cost performance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and oversee assigned projects, reviewing details and guiding setting out processes such as material submissions, procurement, shop drawings, prototyping and delivery.
• Review and control project programmes, schedules, client expectations and shop‑drawing submittal processes.
• Lead coordination with production departments, oversee material clearance, variations and specifications compliance.
• Plan and manage material procurement, ensuring all items arrive before production starts.
• Identify and manage RFIs with clients, source hardware accessories and optimise procurement.
• Oversee timely approval of project drawings and issuance of cutting lists and loading lines to the factory.
• Coordinate site surveys or alternative setting‑out plans for fast‑track projects.
• Prepare project status reports and forward‑plan schedules for cutting‑list issuance.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years experience in a manufacturing environment, specifically joinery setting out.
• Proven track record managing a team of 15‑20 members.
• Strong technical and execution capabilities, able to solve complex material integration issues.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Autodesk products.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
• In‑depth knowledge of joinery materials (timber, boards, veneers, laminates, hardware) and related standards (FSC, LEED, FR).
