Ordnance Inventory Specialist – Detachment Bahrain

About the role

SkyBridge Tactical is seeking an experienced Ordnance Inventory Specialist to support Naval Special Warfare Group ONE, Detachment Bahrain, located in Manama. The role involves managing ammunition and explosives inventories, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing administrative support in a high‑security OCONUS environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain 100 % accountability of ammunition and explosives using the Navy Ordnance Information System (NARS).
• Process ammunition issues, receipts, expenditures, requisitions, turn‑ins and related documentation.
• Coordinate handling, storage, shipment, issue, receipt and movement of ammunition, rockets, mines and other explosive components.
• Prepare and manage transportation and hazardous‑material shipping schedules for ground, vessel, and aircraft movements.
• Apply DOT 49 CFR, IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations, International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code and military transportation requirements.
• Ensure compliance with Arms, Ammunition and Explosives policies, safety requirements and physical‑security controls.
• Maintain and update records in NARS, ATR, DPAS and other ordnance/property‑management systems.
• Support audits, inspections and periodic travel throughout the CENTCOM area of responsibility.

Required profile

• Active DoD Secret clearance.
• Proven experience in ammunition or explosives inventory management in a military or defense setting.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high accuracy and attention to detail.
• Willingness to travel periodically within the CENTCOM region.

Required skills

• Navy Ordnance Information System (NARS).
• Automated Tracking and Reporting (ATR) system.
• Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS).
• Knowledge of DOT 49 CFR regulations.
• Familiarity with IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations.
• Understanding of the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code (IMDG).
