Purchasing Manager

About the role

The Purchasing Manager will lead procurement operations for a new 5‑star hotel in Manama, establishing supplier networks and ensuring the acquisition of high‑quality goods while maintaining luxury brand standards.

Key responsibilities

• Pre‑opening procurement setup: negotiate preferred vendor contracts, configure procurement/inventory software, and manage OS&E and FF&E critical‑path schedules.
• Sourcing & supplier management: identify, evaluate and manage reliable vendors, negotiate pricing, terms and SLAs.
• Inventory & cost control: oversee receiving, store operations and stock management to optimise turnover and minimise waste.
• Compliance & policy enforcement: apply purchasing policies, financial controls, sustainability guidelines and local health/safety regulations.
• Cross‑departmental support: collaborate with Culinary, Housekeeping and Engineering teams on routine purchases, capital expenditures and emergency requests.

Required profile

• 3–5 years experience as Purchasing Manager or Assistant Purchasing Manager in a 5‑star luxury hotel, preferably with pre‑opening project exposure.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or Finance.
• High ethical standards, strong negotiation and analytical abilities, and fluency in business English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with hospitality procurement software such as Materials Control, SunSystems and Oracle.
• Inventory management and contract negotiation expertise.
