Risk Analyst – Credit & Portfolio Risk

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Risk Analyst to join the Risk Management team of a leading Islamic Bank in Bahrain. The role focuses on monitoring, reporting and analysing credit and portfolio risks while ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor risk parameters in line with the Board‑approved Risk Framework.
• Prepare and deliver accurate risk reports for management, regulators and group stakeholders.
• Maintain and update risk data in the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and IFRS 9 systems.
• Support the review and enhancement of risk policies, procedures and governance documentation.
• Produce Risk MIS reports, including exposure, asset, credit and prudential information reports.
• Coordinate with Finance on Expected Credit Loss (ECL) calculations, NPL budgeting and forecasting.
• Conduct portfolio reviews, risk trend analysis and deep‑dive analytical studies.
• Assist with regulatory submissions and management reporting requirements.
• Liaise with internal and external auditors, regulators and rating agencies.
• Develop and automate risk dashboards, analytics tools and reporting solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, data analytics or a related field.
• 1‑3 years of experience in risk management, credit risk, finance, analytics or banking.
• Strong analytical and quantitative abilities.
• Familiarity with regulatory reporting and risk analytics is an advantage.
• Understanding of IFRS 9 concepts and ECL methodologies is preferred.
