Sales Assistant – Sports Retail

About the role

The Sales Assistant – Sports will represent GMG’s sports portfolio, helping customers discover and purchase products while delivering exceptional service. You will act as the primary point of contact for shoppers, guiding them through product features, benefits, and brand standards.

Key responsibilities

• Describe product features, demonstrate usage, and educate clients on quality standards.
• Advise customers on the best product ranges for their needs and answer queries.
• Provide information on warranties, specifications, maintenance, and care.
• Resolve complaints or escalate them, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
• Stay informed about new product launches, promotions, and sales events.
• Achieve sales targets through up‑selling, cross‑selling, and effective sales techniques.
• Maintain accurate pricing, compute discounts, and keep sales records.
• Handle cash, credit payments, and generate invoices/receipts as a cashier.
• Follow after‑sales processes, repair/return policies, and loss‑prevention procedures.
• Assist with merchandising, product placement, and store housekeeping standards.

Required profile

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of retail or sales experience, preferably in sports or related sectors.
• Strong product and brand knowledge.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer‑service orientation.
