Sales Executive - Water Treatment Chemicals

About the role

AquaChem Trading Co W.I.I. in Manama, Bahrain, is hiring a Sales Executive (also described as Sales Engineer / Technical Consultant) to drive sales growth while providing technical support to new and existing clients. The role covers the full sales cycle, from lead generation to order closure, and aims to build strong client relationships and achieve consistent regional growth.

Key responsibilities

• Sales and business development: develop sales strategies and campaigns, generate leads for specialty water treatment chemicals across industries such as refining and process applications, and report potential sales and lead status to management.
• Tender and proposal management: prepare and submit technical and commercial tenders for water treatment chemical programs in oil & gas, power and infrastructure, coordinate with procurement and finance, and handle negotiations and post-tender follow-ups.
• Key account management: act as a technical consultant on retainer for strategic clients, offering guidance on system optimization, troubleshooting and chemical program improvement.
• Technical support: advise clients on chemical applications and dosage calculations, collaborate with internal teams on project execution and delivery commitments.
• Customer service: respond to inquiries and complaints, provide after-sales service through site visits and troubleshooting, and share monthly reports, lab reports, water testing results and yearly performance reviews.
• Support process standardization and integration across departments.

Required profile

• B.Tech Chemical Engineering (or equivalent).
• 5+ years of experience in sales or as a technical consultant in the water treatment industry.
• Ability to achieve sales targets and strong networking skills within the water treatment industry.
• Experience developing long-term client partnerships and communicating at a high level with clients and stakeholders.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of water treatment processes, specialty chemicals and system performance optimization.
• System assessment, performance diagnostics and root cause analysis.
• Costing, proposal development and tender management.
