Secondary Head of Science Teacher – British School in Bahrain

About the role

The school seeks a dynamic Secondary Head of Science Teacher to lead the science department within a British curriculum framework. You will mentor staff, drive curriculum excellence, and support the holistic development of pupils across key stages.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the secondary science curriculum in line with the British National Curriculum and Bahrain Ministry of Education requirements.
• Mentor and support newly qualified and early‑career teachers, fostering professional growth.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to shape school policies, house system activities, and interdisciplinary projects.
• Oversee assessment practices, ensure compliance with BSO and BSME standards, and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a relevant science subject.
• Recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS).
• Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in the subject/grade level.
• Experience with the British curriculum preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
