Senior Accountant – French Speaking

About the role

We are seeking a French‑speaking Senior Accountant to join an international organisation operating across multiple jurisdictions. The role is based in Bahrain and focuses on UK and Belgian accounting, VAT and tax compliance, offering broad exposure to cross‑border financial operations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full accounting cycle, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and reconciliations.
• Lead month‑end and year‑end close activities.
• Prepare and submit VAT and corporate tax filings for international entities.
• Produce management reports, variance analysis and support forecasting.
• Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, banks and regulatory bodies.
• Support budgeting, compliance and process‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Fluent in French and English, both written and spoken.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience in an international or multi‑entity environment.
• Strong knowledge of Belgian VAT and corporate tax; UK accounting/tax knowledge is highly desirable.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; ACCA, CPA or similar qualification is advantageous.

• Proficiency with ERP systems.
• Advanced Excel skills.
