Senior Associate – ESG & Sustainability Advisory

About the role

The Senior Associate will support the delivery of ESG and sustainability advisory engagements for KPMG Bahrain’s diverse client base. You will work on developing strategies, conducting assessments and preparing sustainability reports while ensuring compliance with professional standards.

Key responsibilities

• Execute assigned ESG and sustainability advisory tasks, maintaining quality, timeliness and methodological compliance.
• Develop ESG strategies, roadmaps, governance frameworks and performance measurement systems for clients.
• Conduct ESG assessments, benchmarking, materiality reviews and gap analyses to inform strategic decisions.
• Support client workshops, stakeholder engagement sessions and data‑collection programmes.
• Prepare sustainability reports aligned with GRI, IFRS ISSB, SASB and relevant regional disclosure requirements.
• Assist clients in establishing ESG data management, validation and reporting processes.
• Contribute to business development by identifying opportunities, supporting proposals and nurturing client relationships.
• Supervise and review work of Associates/Analysts, providing feedback and mentorship.
• Produce accurate engagement documentation and deliverables in line with firm methodology and regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering, sustainability, economics, public policy, finance, business administration or a related field; a master’s degree is a plus.
• Certification in at least one sustainability reporting standard.
• 3–5 years of experience in ESG or sustainability assurance within a professional services firm.
• Proven experience managing end‑to‑end sustainability reporting engagements.
• Strong commitment to continuous professional development and adherence to firm policies.
