Senior Civil Engineer – Hangar & Large‑Span Steel Projects

About the role

AFC Project Management is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer with extensive hands‑on experience in hangar construction and large‑span steel structures. The successful candidate will lead projects from foundation design through steel fabrication, erection, and final handover, ensuring seamless coordination of all disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Manage hangar projects from foundation works to steel fabrication, erection, roofing, cladding, and MEP integration.
• Review structural and shop drawings, technical submittals, method statements, and material submissions.
• Oversee site activities, subcontractor performance, and quality‑control procedures.
• Coordinate lifting operations, construction sequencing, and resolve structural and MEP coordination issues.
• Ensure compliance with GCC construction standards and project specifications.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of proven experience in hangar construction, delivering projects from foundation to final handover.
• Strong knowledge of large‑span structural steel systems and steel fabrication processes.
• Experience with foundations, anchor bolts, base plates, and concrete works.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate roofing, cladding, insulation, drainage, architectural works, and MEP systems.
• Willingness to relocate to Bahrain and work on GCC projects.
