Senior Electrical Estimator

About the role

The Senior Electrical Estimator prepares accurate, competitive and technically compliant cost estimates for electrical works across a wide range of construction projects, including commercial, industrial, infrastructure and high‑rise developments. The role supports business development by ensuring tender submissions are viable, technically sound and aligned with client, EWA, EDD and local authority requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Review tender documents, drawings, specifications and BOQs to define project requirements and identify risks.
• Prepare detailed electrical quantity take‑offs and develop cost estimates covering materials, labour, equipment, testing and commissioning.
• Analyse and negotiate supplier and subcontractor quotations to secure competitive pricing and favourable commercial terms.
• Assess technical compliance of electrical designs, propose value‑engineering solutions and manage risk mitigation strategies.
• Compile comprehensive technical and commercial tender submissions within deadlines and provide recommendations on bid strategy.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in electrical estimating within the construction industry.
• At least 10 years of experience working on GCC projects, preferably across infrastructure, high‑rise and mixed‑use developments.
• Strong commercial awareness with the ability to evaluate risks, opportunities and pricing strategies.

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of electrical systems, installations and construction methodologies.
• Expertise in electrical quantity take‑offs, rate build‑ups and cost estimation.
• Working knowledge of EWA and EDD regulations and local authority electrical codes.
• Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience in procurement, supplier evaluation and tendering processes.
