Senior Quantity Surveyor

About the role

The Senior Quantity Surveyor will lead all pre‑ and post‑contract commercial activities for construction projects in Bahrain. Working closely with project managers, subcontractors, consultants and clients, you will ensure accurate measurement, valuation, cost control and risk mitigation to maximise project profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Manage commercial and contractual aspects of assigned projects, including subcontract agreements, bid evaluations, payments, bonds, insurances and final accounts.
• Prepare and monitor Contract Cost Value Reconciliations, forecasts, cash flows, valuations and financial reports.
• Measure works, evaluate variations, prepare claims and negotiate final accounts with clients and subcontractors.
• Identify and manage commercial risks, contractual issues and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate with project, finance, procurement and construction teams on all commercial matters.
• Lead, mentor and develop junior Quantity Surveyors within the team.
• Conduct regular site visits to verify progress and quantities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of quantity surveying experience in construction, with at least 6 years in the GCC.
• Proven experience on building and/or civil engineering projects.
• Strong financial, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
