Setting Out Manager

About the role

The Setting Out Manager will lead the coordination of internal and external clients together with the setting‑out team to ensure a smooth manufacturing flow, high client satisfaction and balanced quality‑cost performance. This senior role supports divisional performance, drives efficiency improvements and aligns daily activities with the strategic plan.

Key responsibilities

• Manage assigned projects from site survey through to manufacturing delivery, overseeing material submissions, procurement, shop‑drawing development and prototyping.
• Review project programmes, schedules and client expectations; ensure timely approval of drawings and cutting lists.
• Lead coordination with production departments, verify material details and handle variations with clients.
• Identify material requirements, drive procurement planning and ensure all materials arrive before production starts.
• Handle RFIs, source hardware accessories, and optimise sourcing where possible.
• Coordinate site surveys or alternative solutions for fast‑track projects and interpret contractual obligations.
• Prepare project status reports and forward‑plan schedules for cutting‑list issuance.

Required profile

• Minimum ten years of experience in a manufacturing environment, specifically in joinery setting‑out.
• Proven track record from site survey, shop‑drawing preparation, material take‑off, ordering, to loading‑line issuance.
• Strong knowledge of joinery materials such as timber, boards, veneers and laminates.
