Setting Out Manager – Manufacturing & Project Coordination

About the role

The Setting Out Manager will lead the coordination of internal and external clients and the setting‑out team to ensure smooth project manufacturing, high client satisfaction and balanced quality‑cost performance. You will support divisional goals, improve efficiency and drive continuous improvement across the manufacturing process.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and oversee assigned projects from site survey through to manufacturing delivery.
• Review project details, guide setting‑out processes, and control material submissions, procurement and shop‑drawing development.
• Maintain project schedules, set client expectations and monitor programme progress.
• Lead coordination with production departments, approve material details and manage variations.
• Oversee material procurement, ensure timely arrival before production, and handle RFI processes with clients.
• Supervise hardware sourcing, drawing approvals, cutting‑list issuance and loading‑line preparation.
• Coordinate site surveys or alternative setting‑out plans for fast‑track projects.
• Interpret contractual requirements, follow up procurement, and prepare project status reports.
• Forecast cutting‑list schedules and support forward planning for manufacturing.

Required profile

• Minimum ten years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven track record in all aspects of joinery setting out, from site surveys to cutting‑list issuance.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing procedures and common joinery materials such as timber, boards, veneers and laminates.
