Setting Out Manager – Manufacturing Projects

About the role

The Setting Out Manager will lead the coordination of internal and external clients and the setting‑out team to ensure smooth project manufacturing, on‑time delivery and client satisfaction. You will support divisional performance, drive efficiency improvements and act as the main liaison between production, design and site teams.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the end‑to‑end setting‑out process, from site surveys and shop‑drawing development to cutting‑list issuance and loading lines.
• Manage project programmes, schedules and client expectations, ensuring all documentation is reviewed and approved on time.
• Coordinate material procurement, RFI handling and hardware sourcing to guarantee materials arrive before production starts.
• Lead the preparation and submission of shop drawings, monitor variations and obtain clearances for any discrepancies.
• Collaborate with production departments, site teams and external stakeholders to resolve issues and maintain project flow.
• Prepare regular project status reports and forward‑plan cutting‑list forecasts for manufacturing.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, specifically in joinery setting‑out.
• Proven track record of managing complex projects from survey to delivery.
• Strong understanding of joinery materials such as timber, boards, veneers and laminates.
• Excellent communication skills with both clients and internal teams.
