Speech Language Pathologist – Onsite, Bahrain

About the role

Amana Healthcare’s new facility in Al Jasra, Bahrain, is seeking a qualified Speech Language Pathologist to join its multidisciplinary team. The role focuses on assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, voice, communication, and swallowing disorders for long‑term care and post‑acute rehabilitation patients.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and diagnose communication, speech, language, and swallowing disorders across all age groups.
• Develop and implement individualized, evidence‑based treatment plans.
• Conduct bedside and instrumental swallowing assessments and manage dysphagia.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, dietitians, and psychologists.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on therapy goals and home programs.
• Document assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and outcomes in the hospital’s medical record system.
• Participate in case conferences, family meetings, and care‑planning discussions.
• Support training of nursing staff and caregivers on communication and swallowing issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Speech and Language Pathology or Speech Therapy from a recognized university.
• Valid NHRA license to practice in Bahrain or eligibility to obtain one.
• Minimum 6 years of experience as a Speech Language Pathologist, preferably in a hospital or long‑term care setting.
• Experience managing adult neurological conditions such as stroke, traumatic brain injury, Parkinson’s disease, or dementia.
