Team Leader – Grocery

About the role

The Team Leader – Grocery is responsible for delivering an exceptional customer experience by maintaining quality, range and freshness standards while achieving sales targets. You will motivate the team, address issues promptly, and coach staff to ensure high‑level service in the grocery section of a hypermarket.

Key responsibilities

• Implement the commercial policy for store pricing and product assortment.
• Negotiate internal promotions with suppliers to reinforce discount imagery.
• Monitor and improve the Net Promoter Score (NPS) for the grocery area.
• Provide input on price and freshness presentation.
• Manage stock: prepare reports, control out‑of‑stock items, place replenishment orders and oversee deliveries.
• Drive initiatives to minimise waste and shrinkage, and report on waste items.
• Identify slow‑moving or depreciating stock and promote sales before expiry.

Required profile

• Diploma in Commerce or Finance.
• Minimum 3 years experience in retail operations.
• Pleasant, warm disposition with strong customer‑service orientation.
• People‑oriented, able to build team spirit and motivate staff.
• Action‑oriented mindset.
