Technical Support Engineer

About the role

Local is looking for a Technical Support Engineer to ensure smooth merchant onboarding and day‑to‑day operation of its payment middleware across restaurants, cafes, hotels and hospitals in the GCC. The role combines field installations, troubleshooting, and close collaboration with engineering and operations teams.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy and configure Local’s middleware services on merchant POS and client systems.
• Visit merchant locations for installation, testing, and technical support as needed.
• Monitor middleware, integrations and production systems to maintain stable operation.
• Investigate and resolve issues affecting transactions, POS connectivity, APIs, webhooks, network or Windows environments.
• Escalate bugs, deployment problems and integration failures to the engineering team.
• Support merchant onboarding and assist with technical setup during go‑live.
• Maintain documentation of deployments, configurations, troubleshooting steps and recurring issues.
• Apply software updates, patches and middleware version rollouts across merchant sites.
• Track support tickets and incidents until resolution and contribute to improving monitoring and support processes.

Required profile

• Hands‑on operational and technical mindset.
• Experience working with POS systems and merchant‑facing technical assistance.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate with engineering, operations and integration teams.
• Willingness to travel to merchant branches when required.
