Graduate Engineer – Construction & Restoration Projects

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Graduate Engineer to join our project team and support the delivery of construction, heritage, and restoration projects. This position offers hands‑on experience across engineering, site supervision, planning, coordination, quality, and safety activities while working closely with senior engineers and various project stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Review restoration methodologies, materials, construction techniques and site operations.
• Study structural, architectural and shop drawings, specifications and related documentation.
• Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications and method statements.
• Supervise daily subcontractor and labour team activities and produce daily progress reports.
• Track weekly work programmes and verify progress against the project schedule.
• Spend roughly 50% of time on‑site to inspect materials, workmanship and completed works.
• Support implementation of quality and safety standards, report unsafe practices and ensure proper PPE usage.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, consultants, suppliers and other stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, approvals, RFIs, site changes and other documentation.
• Develop an understanding of project billing procedures and commercial aspects.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Fresh graduate or up to 2 years of relevant experience.
• Basic knowledge of construction methods, materials and site operations.
• Familiarity with engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Understanding of project management principles.
• Strong communication, problem‑solving and analytical abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and manage time efficiently.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast‑paced environment.
