Graduate Surveyor

About the role

The Graduate Surveyor will support commercial and quantity surveying activities across construction projects. Working closely with the Commercial Manager, Senior Quantity Surveyors and project teams, you will gain practical experience in measurement, valuation, cost control and procurement while developing a solid foundation in construction contracts.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with measurement, quantification and preparation of tenders, valuations and commercial reports.
• Support the preparation and review of subcontractor and supplier enquiries, quotations and commercial documentation.
• Help prepare interim payment applications, valuations and process subcontractor invoices in line with contract requirements.
• Maintain project cost reports, budgets, forecasts and cash‑flow information, monitoring expenditure against approved allowances.
• Assist in the preparation of variations, claims and other commercial submissions, ensuring proper documentation.
• Develop and apply standard methods of measurement, taking off quantities, bills of quantities and related commercial documents under supervision.
• Liaise with project and construction teams to verify work progress, quantities and site records.
• Identify potential commercial, contractual and cost risks and escalate them appropriately.
• Attend site visits to verify progress, quantities and completed works.

Required profile

• Recent graduate in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Ability to work under the general supervision of the Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor.
• Eagerness to develop knowledge of standard measurement techniques and FIDIC contract forms.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate commercial records.
