Lead Java Developer – Vice President

About the role

Citi’s Technology team is shaping the future of global finance, handling trillions of dollars daily across more than 180 countries. As a Lead Java Developer – Vice President, you will drive the design, development, and delivery of critical risk‑management systems for the XVA and Cross‑Asset Margin platforms, influencing how the firm calculates and optimises margin requirements for OTC derivatives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert guidance on application design, ensuring alignment with the overall architecture blueprint.
• Define and enforce coding, testing, debugging, and implementation standards.
• Lead a team of developers and analysts, allocating work, mentoring mid‑level staff, and overseeing software quality.
• Own production release planning and execution, guaranteeing smooth deployments.
• Analyse existing operations to identify risks, redundancies, and improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with traders, risk managers, and other stakeholders to meet regulatory‑driven requirements.
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with extensive experience in Java application development.
• Proven ability to lead technical teams and manage complex engineering projects.
• Strong understanding of financial risk concepts, especially margin calculation for derivatives.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and a track record of delivering high‑impact solutions.
