Security Engineer – Cybersecurity Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a Security Engineer to join Extranet Systems’ Bahrain team. The role focuses on protecting client IT infrastructure, networks and cloud environments against evolving cyber threats.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and manage security solutions across on‑premise and cloud platforms.
• Monitor, detect and respond to incidents using SIEM, IDS/IPS and endpoint tools.
• Conduct security assessments, penetration tests and risk analyses.
• Develop, enforce and maintain security policies, standards and best practices.
• Manage firewalls, IAM, and cloud security controls (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Ensure compliance with ISO 27001, NIST and other frameworks.
• Collaborate with IT and DevOps teams to embed security into development pipelines.
• Perform forensic analysis and implement mitigation strategies.
• Deliver cybersecurity awareness training to staff.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in cybersecurity, network security or security operations.
• Strong problem‑solving ability and capacity to work independently under pressure.
• Relevant certifications (CISSP, CEH, CISM, CompTIA Security+) are a plus.

Required skills

• Firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, endpoint protection.
• Identity & Access Management solutions.
• Cloud security for AWS, Azure and Google Cloud.
• Penetration testing, vulnerability assessment and incident response.
• Forensic analysis and security policy development.
• Knowledge of ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Controls and GDPR compliance.
