Purchasing Manager – Luxury Hotel

About the role

The Purchasing Manager leads procurement for Kempinski's new luxury hotel in Manama, ensuring high‑quality supplies while controlling costs and upholding brand standards. This role is pivotal in building the supply‑chain infrastructure before the hotel opens.

Key responsibilities

• Pre‑opening procurement setup: create supplier networks, negotiate preferred contracts, configure procurement/inventory software, and manage OS&E and FF&E critical‑path schedules.
• Sourcing & supplier management: identify, evaluate and manage vendors, negotiate pricing, terms and SLAs without compromising quality.
• Inventory & cost control: oversee receiving, store operations and stock levels to optimise turnover and minimise waste.
• Compliance & policy enforcement: apply purchasing policies, financial controls, sustainability guidelines and local health‑safety regulations.
• Cross‑departmental support: collaborate with Culinary, Housekeeping and Engineering on routine purchases, capital expenditures and emergency requests.

Required profile

• 3–5 years experience as Purchasing Manager or Assistant Purchasing Manager in a 5‑star luxury hotel, preferably with pre‑opening project exposure.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or Finance.
• High ethical standards, strong negotiation and analytical abilities, and fluency in English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with hospitality procurement software such as Materials Control, SunSystems and Oracle.
• Inventory management expertise.
• Contract negotiation capabilities.
