Head of IT Operations, Governance & Control (Banking)

About the role

Our banking client in Bahrain is looking for a senior leader to oversee IT operations, governance and control, ensuring processes are streamlined, compliance is enforced and technology aligns with business strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and harmonise governance frameworks, service level agreements and control measures across the group.
• Manage technology budgets (CAPEX/OPEX), expense control and inter‑entity recharges.
• Track key performance indicators, operational risks, resource capacity and asset utilisation.
• Oversee vendor management, licence compliance and incident reporting.
• Collaborate closely with Finance, Strategy and the PMO to ensure alignment and accurate reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science or a related field.
• Experience with ISO 27001 or PCI‑DSS certification.
• Proven background in banking or financial services.
• Senior IT governance experience, preferably in the GCC region.
• Strong knowledge of IT applications, infrastructure, operations and architecture.
