Assistant Maintenance Technician

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Assistant Maintenance Technician to support daily upkeep of our property and buildings. The role involves performing a wide range of skilled maintenance tasks, responding quickly to safety issues, and working both independently and with contractors.

Key responsibilities

• Run daily maintenance operations and inspect properties for life‑safety issues, taking immediate corrective action.
• Identify, prioritize and address building maintenance needs, obtaining manager approval when required.
• Perform skilled repairs across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, drywall, heating, limited air‑conditioning and basic mechanical systems.
• Assist contractors with company requirements and maintain a clean work area.
• Complete preventative maintenance reports and recommend corrective actions.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in a maintenance role, preferably commercial or residential.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb and perform demanding tasks.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems.
• Carpentry, painting, plastering and drywall repair.
• Mechanical repair of equipment and door hardware.
• Installation and maintenance of lighting, including emergency exit lighting.
• Advanced plumbing work such as installing and repairing fixtures, water heaters and pipe obstructions.
