Assistant Manager – Data Privacy & Protection Specialist

About the role

KPMG is looking for an Assistant Manager to lead data privacy and protection initiatives. You will act as a trusted advisor, helping clients navigate complex regulatory landscapes and build robust privacy frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Lead data privacy compliance programs to meet evolving regulations.
• Conduct privacy audits and assessments, identifying gaps and recommending improvements.
• Guide and review Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) for high‑risk processing activities.
• Serve as the primary liaison with regulators and data protection authorities.
• Develop and maintain privacy policies, governance structures, and control frameworks.
• Provide insights on emerging privacy risks and support proactive compliance strategies.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 + years of experience in IT audit, data compliance, cybersecurity, or information security.
• Strong understanding of data privacy regulations and frameworks.
• Proven ability to work across complex, multi‑stakeholder environments.
• Excellent communication skills with senior‑level and regulator engagement.
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Data Science, Computer Science/Engineering, Cyber/Information Security, or equivalent.
• Relevant certifications such as CIPP, CIPM, CISSP, or CISA.
