Assistant Manager – Retail

About the role

The Assistant Manager supports the Shop/Department Manager in the day‑to‑day running of the store, ensuring the highest standards of customer service are achieved and maintained. This role also steps in to lead the shop when the manager is absent.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate sales plans and targets to the team, monitor performance and recommend corrective actions.
• Assign routine and non‑routine tasks, assist in scheduling Sales Associates, Cashiers and Coordinators.
• Greet customers and ensure timely, quality service by shop staff.
• Report operational issues, handle customer complaints promptly and propose solutions or escalations.
• Assist with inventory maintenance and product ordering to ensure effective stock management.
• Motivate and support team members through training and development to optimise sales results.
• Supervise the shop opening process, ensuring compliance with cash handling, reporting and system procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree.
• 1–2 years of experience in a managerial role; retail experience is a plus.
• Good product knowledge and understanding of store operating procedures.
• Fluency in English.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office.
