Barista – Specialty Hot Drinks

About the role

We are looking for a skilled and passionate Barista specialized in hot drinks to join our hospitality team. You will craft high‑quality specialty coffees, signature beverages and teas while delivering an exceptional guest experience in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve specialty coffee and espresso‑based drinks following established recipes and presentation standards.
• Create signature hot beverages, seasonal drinks and non‑coffee options such as teas, hot chocolate, chai and matcha.
• Execute latte art and maintain consistent extraction, milk texturing and temperature control.
• Operate, clean and calibrate espresso machines, grinders and other brewing equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organised and fully stocked barista station throughout service.
• Carry out opening and closing procedures, including equipment cleaning and calibration.
• Monitor inventory of coffee, milk, syrups, garnishes and communicate replenishment needs.
• Minimise waste while ensuring product quality and consistency.
• Adhere to food safety, hygiene, health and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with service and kitchen teams to ensure smooth operations.
• Assist in developing and testing new specialty beverages and seasonal menus.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience as a Barista in a specialty coffee shop, premium restaurant, hotel or high‑end café.
• Strong knowledge of specialty coffee preparation, espresso extraction and coffee bean profiles.
• Proven ability to operate professional espresso machines and grinders.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
