Civil Inspector – Water Infrastructure Projects

About the role

Stantec is seeking experienced Civil Inspectors to support construction supervision projects focused on stormwater, drainage, flood alleviation, wastewater, and water distribution networks. The role involves on‑site inspections, technical coordination, and collaboration with engineers and contractors.

Key responsibilities

• Interact with clients and contractors to verify project requirements.
• Prepare inspection reports, site records, and perform civil/structural tests.
• Inspect all construction and subcontracted tasks to ensure professional workmanship.
• Identify non‑conforming work, generate corrective action reports, and coordinate responses.
• Collaborate with engineers on design problems, perform basic design calculations, and conduct feasibility studies and site investigations.
• Liaise with remote teams to facilitate task completion.
• Follow safe work practices and adhere to Stantec’s quality and core‑value standards.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Assistant Resident Engineer.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with water‑infrastructure projects is an advantage.
• Proven experience supervising micro‑tunneling and structural works such as tunnels, culverts, retaining walls, manholes, and ducts.
