About the role
We are seeking a passionate Commis 1 – Sushi Chef to join the culinary team of FFIFoodFund International (FFI). The successful candidate will work in a dynamic hospitality environment, preparing high‑quality sushi and supporting Japanese kitchen operations.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare sushi dishes and related Japanese menu items in line with the restaurant’s standards.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization and proper stock of the sushi station.
- Assist senior chefs with fine‑dining kitchen tasks and ensure consistent presentation.
- Work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment while upholding food safety and quality.
Required profile
- Previous experience in a sushi or Japanese kitchen.
- Good knowledge of sushi preparation and Japanese cuisine.
- Understanding of fine‑dining kitchen operations.
- Strong attention to detail and presentation.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
- Passion for quality, consistency and food excellence.
