Compliance Officer & Money Laundering Reporting Officer

About the role

Fasset is seeking a Compliance Officer & Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) based in Bahrain. The role will support the development and continuous improvement of KYC, onboarding, sanctions and AML/CFT policies across the company’s emerging‑market operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and update AML/CTF policies, procedures and internal controls in line with Bahrain’s legal framework.
• Provide training and guidance to staff on AML/CTF risks, policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular risk assessments of the AML/CTF and ABC compliance programme, including customer due diligence (CDD) and enhanced due diligence (EDD).
• Monitor, investigate and report suspicious transactions to the relevant authorities.
• Liaise with Bahrain regulatory bodies, respond to inquiries and manage examinations or audits.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and mitigate money‑laundering, terrorist‑financing, fraud, conflict‑of‑interest, anti‑bribery and corruption risks.
• Review and enhance the transaction monitoring programme to detect unusual activity.
• Advise management on compliance matters and stay current with regulatory changes.
• Manage relationships with external service providers supporting the AML/CTF programme.
• Develop and implement fraud detection and prevention strategies.

Required profile

• Proven experience in AML/CTF compliance, preferably within the financial services sector.
• Strong knowledge of Bahrain’s AML, CTF, anti‑bribery and corruption regulations.
• Ability to work closely with global compliance teams and regulatory authorities.
• Excellent analytical and investigative skills.
