Critical Infrastructure Mechanical Engineer – AWS Data Centers

About the role

Amazon is seeking a Critical Infrastructure Mechanical Engineer to provide end‑to‑end support for AWS data centers. You will be the go‑to technical resource for your region, driving design, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of critical mechanical systems.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver full life‑cycle support from design inception through site upgrades and maintenance.
• Perform troubleshooting, root cause analysis (RCA) and produce corrective action (CA) documentation for equipment failures.
• Support operational issues with training, complex procedure reviews, and event response.
• Own conceptual designs for data‑center capacity upgrades, efficiency improvements, and sustainability initiatives.
• Collaborate with operations, design, hardware, and safety teams to maintain standards and reliability.
• Lead engineering audits, on‑site visits, and produce risk mitigation reports.
• Act as resident engineer during new construction, supporting commissioning and turnover.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering engineered solutions for complex mechanical systems.
• Experience managing engineering projects across multiple geographic regions.
