CSS Communications Coordinator

About the role

The Communications Coordinator will support the Student Development and Wellbeing Department by ensuring that students, staff and external stakeholders receive timely, accurate information about the department’s programmes, services and events. Acting as the central point of contact, the role blends strategic communication planning with day‑to‑day operational support within a university environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and execute communications and promotional activities aligned with the academic calendar.
• Maintain an annual communications and events calendar, tracking campaigns, deadlines and resource needs.
• Liaise with university departments to secure approvals, resources and support for events and communications.
• Manage the department’s presence on the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), website, media boards, ConnectEd and other digital channels.
• Regularly update webpages, VLE content, student guidance and announcements to keep information current and engaging.
• Write and distribute press releases, announcements, promotional materials and digital content for students and faculty.
• Oversee departmental communication assets such as publications, photographic databases and promotional materials.
• Support the production of brochures, information booklets and other printed or digital resources in collaboration with suppliers and the university’s Marketing and Communications team.
• Assist with event logistics including room bookings, equipment, media coverage and post‑event media plans.
• Serve as the welcoming first point of contact for visitors, providing accurate information about departmental services.

Required profile

• Degree in marketing, communications, media or a related field.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
