Deputy CEO

About the role

AX Coin, the first licensed stablecoin issuer regulated by the Central Bank of Bahrain, is seeking a strategic and dynamic Deputy CEO to support the CEO in overseeing operations, driving corporate strategy, and building a robust compliance framework.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor local cross‑functional teams, manage talent recruitment, retention, performance evaluation and drive operational efficiency.
• Represent AX Coin with government entities, regulators and licensing bodies, monitor regulatory changes and maintain transparent relationships to secure necessary licences.
• Develop and manage banking and financial partnerships, establish fiat‑to‑crypto gateways, negotiate commercial terms and optimise service delivery.
• Oversee office administration, corporate governance, facilities and day‑to‑day logistics, implementing standardised policies and vendor agreements.
• Build and maintain a risk management and compliance framework covering AML, CFT, KYC and sanctions, ensuring adherence to local and global regulations.
• Partner with the CEO on long‑term strategy, regional expansion, partnership development and represent the company at industry events.

Required profile

• 10+ years senior management or executive leadership experience in Fintech, virtual assets, banking or financial services.
• Deep knowledge of regional financial regulation with a proven track record of engaging regulators.
• Strong network in corporate banking, payment infrastructure and financial institutions.
• Solid understanding of AML, CFT, sanctions and corporate governance frameworks.
• Exceptional leadership, strategic planning and decision‑making abilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Law or Economics (MBA preferred); professional proficiency in English and the local language.
