Electrical Engineer - Fit-Out & MEP Projects

About the role

An experienced Electrical Engineer is sought with proven expertise in interior fit-out and MEP construction projects. The engineer plans, executes, supervises, tests, commissions and hands over electrical systems in line with project specifications, safety standards and client requirements, coordinating with project managers, consultants, subcontractors and site teams.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise electrical installation on fit-out projects and review drawings, specifications, BOQs and shop drawings
• Coordinate electrical works with architectural, civil, mechanical and fit-out teams and monitor progress against schedule
• Install and supervise lighting, small power, distribution boards, cable containment, earthing and lightning protection, emergency lighting, ELV and low-current systems
• Conduct site inspections, quality checks and testing and commissioning, and prepare test reports and commissioning documentation
• Liaise with consultants, clients and suppliers, resolve technical issues and attend coordination meetings
• Review material submittals, prepare take-offs and quantity calculations, track material consumption and assist with variation orders and cost estimates
• Ensure compliance with HSE policies, conduct risk assessments and toolbox talks, and maintain project documentation

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
• 5-10 years of experience in electrical engineering, including at least 3 years in commercial or retail fit-out projects
• Gulf experience preferred
• Preferred experience in office, retail, mall, hospitality, restaurant, villa and luxury residential fit-outs

Required skills

• Electrical distribution, lighting and power, LV, ELV, fire alarm, structured cabling, CCTV and access control systems
• Testing and commissioning procedures; local authority regulations and standards
• AutoCAD, MS Office, MS Excel; Revit and Primavera P6 preferred
• Project management, site supervision, quality control and cost awareness
