Health & Safety Officer

About the role

The Health & Safety Officer will develop, implement and maintain occupational health and safety systems for a production environment in Bahrain. The role ensures compliance with local legislation, reduces workplace risks and supports a safe culture across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain health and safety policies, procedures and manuals.
• Identify hazards, conduct risk assessments and implement preventive measures.
• Manage the Health & Safety team and coordinate training programmes.
• Liaise with government authorities and ensure all regulatory reporting is completed.
• Investigate incidents, determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain emergency response plans, audit local OHS compliance and manage hazardous waste procedures.
• Communicate safety performance to management and external regulators.

Required profile

• Bahraini nationals with at least 3 years of HSE experience or expatriates with 6 years or more.
• Strong knowledge of Bahrain HSE laws and regulations.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.
• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent health & safety qualification.
• Positive attitude, integrity and a strong sense of responsibility.

Required skills

• NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent).
• Computer proficiency.
• Knowledge of Bahrain HSE regulations.
