Health & Safety Officer

About the role

The Health & Safety Officer will lead the development and implementation of occupational health and safety systems for our production and support operations in Bahrain. Reporting to senior management, the role ensures a safe working environment by identifying hazards, conducting risk assessments, and maintaining compliance with local legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain occupational health and safety policies, procedures and manuals.
• Identify potential hazards, conduct risk assessments and implement preventive measures.
• Manage the Health and Safety team and promote a safety culture across the organization.
• Liaise with government authorities to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Maintain up‑to‑date documentation, emergency response plans and audit local OHS compliance.
• Investigate accidents, determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure proper installation of equipment and machinery and monitor hazardous waste management.
• Communicate regularly with management on the status of health and safety programs.

Required profile

• Bahraini nationals with at least 3 years of HSE experience, or expatriates with 6 years or more.
• Strong knowledge of Bahrain HSE laws and regulations.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.
• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent health & safety qualification (additional certifications are a plus).
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and training abilities.
• Positive attitude, integrity and a strong sense of responsibility.

Required skills

• Computer proficiency.
• Knowledge of applicable government regulations.
