Health & Safety Officer (Production & Support – H&S)

About the role

The Health & Safety Officer will lead the development and implementation of occupational health and safety systems across our production facilities in Bahrain. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with local legislation, reducing workplace risks, and fostering a safety‑first culture.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain health and safety policies, procedures, manuals and quality documentation.
• Identify hazards, conduct risk assessments and implement preventive measures for chemical, physical and ergonomic risks.
• Manage the Health & Safety team, provide training and oversee internal audits.
• Liaise with government authorities, ministries and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance.
• Investigate incidents, determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain emergency response plans, hazardous waste management and OHS compliance audits.
• Ensure proper installation of equipment and machinery, and monitor safe work practices.

Required profile

• Bahraini nationals with at least 3 years of HSE experience, or expatriates with 6 years or more.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field.
• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent health & safety qualification (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of Bahrain HSE laws, regulations and reporting requirements.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and training abilities.
• Positive attitude, integrity and a strong sense of responsibility.
