HVAC Technician – Installation, Maintenance & Repair

About the role

The HVAC Technician will install, maintain and repair heating, ventilation and air‑conditioning systems across commercial and industrial facilities. The role demands strong technical knowledge, diagnostic ability and the capacity to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary maintenance team.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on chillers, split units, air handling units, fan coil units, ducting and exhaust systems.
• Install, inspect and test new HVAC equipment and components to ensure proper functionality and safety compliance.
• Diagnose complex mechanical and electrical faults and carry out precise repairs.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns promptly to minimise downtime.
• Monitor system performance and energy efficiency, recommending upgrades or improvements.
• Maintain accurate service logs, checklists and maintenance reports.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, occupational health policies and manufacturer guidelines.
• Assist with inventory tracking and procurement of spare parts and specialised tools.
• Collaborate with other engineering and maintenance staff on cross‑functional projects.

Required profile

• Certified technical diploma, vocational degree or equivalent trade certification in HVAC/R.
• Proven experience as an HVAC Technician with commercial/industrial systems.
• Physically fit to handle heavy tools, work in confined spaces, at heights and in varying weather conditions.
• Willingness to work rotational shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Required skills

• Installation, maintenance and repair of chillers, split units, AHUs, FCUs and ducting networks.
• Fault diagnosis of mechanical and electrical HVAC controls.
• Energy efficiency monitoring and performance evaluation.
