HVAC/EPP Technician

About the role
The HVAC/EPP Technician is responsible for maintaining, modifying, and repairing electrical power‑generating and control systems, automatic transfer switches, and HVAC/refrigeration equipment. The role involves scheduled maintenance, system adjustments, and troubleshooting to ensure reliable operation of generators ranging from 15 kW to 250 kW and HVAC units from 1‑5 ton.
Key responsibilities
- Perform periodic maintenance on generators, ATS, HVAC and refrigeration systems.
- Adjust voltage, refrigerant levels, current, frequency and synchronization as required.
- Diagnose, repair, and document malfunctions; replace defective components.
- Maintain Cummins generator series (DGDK, DSGAB, DGBB, C15D6, C35D6, 125D6D, MEPP 1050, 1070A, PP‑3106A) using Cummins InPower software.
- Interpret blueprints, schematics and technical drawings; use electrician hand tools and testing instruments.
- Support a variety of generator/HVAC systems listed in the referenced tables.
Required profile
- Universal 608 HVAC certification.
- High school diploma or GED; formal training in power‑generating equipment (military technical school, vocational college, or 4‑year apprenticeship).
- Minimum four years practical experience with relevant equipment and six months experience with Cummins Commercial, AMMPS and InPower software.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Security Clearance (US citizenship required).
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb and perform sustained stooping, bending, kneeling, carrying, reaching and lifting.
- Computer proficiency for online training, time‑keeping and email.
Required skills
- Universal 608 HVAC certification.
- Knowledge of Cummins generator series (DGDK, DSGAB, DGBB, C15D6, C35D6, 125D6D, MEPP 1050, 1070A, PP‑3106A).
- Proficiency with Cummins InPower diagnostic software.
- Experience with Advanced Medium Mobile Power Source (AMMPS).
- Electrical power generation maintenance and repair.
- Blueprint and schematic reading.
- Use of electrician hand tools and testing instruments.
