International Tax Advisory - Manager or Senior Manager

About the role

EY is hiring a Manager or Senior Manager for its International Tax & Transaction Services (ITTS) practice in Bahrain. The role advises clients on the regional and international tax implications of their operations, covering matters such as permanent establishment, double taxation, cross-border treaties, tax structuring, corporate tax impact assessments, withholding tax and other relevant issues.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the delivery of technically complex international tax engagements with high technical and practical quality.
• Assist directors and partners in generating new business by building and maintaining client relationships.
• Help manage leads and opportunities from other parts of the tax practice and the wider EY network.
• Contribute to the development of the practice through internal training, precedents, knowledge sharing, team and firm events, presentations and expert articles.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Tax, Economics, Accounting or Finance, plus an approved professional qualification (ADIT, ATT, ACCA, CPA, CA or LLB); a Master's degree is also acceptable.
• 6 years or more of client-facing international tax advisory experience.
• Broad exposure to international taxation, including inbound and outbound investments.
• Experience managing a team and/or mentoring junior team members.
• Ideally, advanced knowledge or specialization in a particular area of international tax, and fluency in Arabic.

• Strong technical knowledge of international tax and of the tax laws and codes of the jurisdictions covered.
• Managerial, organizational, project management and communication skills.
• Client-driven approach, commercial and strategic awareness, and ability to motivate project teams.
