Mechanical Engineer – NSA Bahrain

About the role

KBR is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to support the design, development, inspection and maintenance of mechanical systems and equipment for the Naval Support Activity (NSA) Bahrain mission. The role is based onsite in Manama and involves ensuring designs are efficient, reliable and compliant with relevant codes and standards.

Key responsibilities

• Support installation, testing and commissioning of mechanical systems.
• Prepare and review engineering designs, technical drawings, specifications and calculations for piping, HVAC, rotating equipment and structural components.
• Perform engineering analysis including stress, thermal and fluid flow calculations to validate design integrity.
• Review vendor documents and technical submittals for compliance with project requirements.
• Conduct troubleshooting, root‑cause analysis and performance evaluations to recommend corrective actions.
• Collaborate with electrical, civil, instrumentation and operations teams to ensure successful project integration.
• Ensure all engineering activities meet safety, environmental and regulatory standards.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Relevant experience in mechanical design, engineering or project support.
• Knowledge of engineering standards such as ASME, API and ISO.
• Proficiency with engineering tools including CAD and simulation software.
